Morning walk presents a plethora of opportunities to come across people of different style, mannerism or idiosyncrasy.
Being a regular walker, my eyes and ears are wide open (mindful walking) to register visual and audio inputs. I am equally aware that others might be apprising me similarly.
Few characters merit mention. A 60+ gentleman jogging in flaming red attire, 40+ gentlemen wakatalking merrily on the wrong side of the road (any way which is the right side?) and a tall 50+ gentleman, in track suit, emitting guttural sounds. From among all, I chose to tag along a 45+ gentleman during one of my morning walks. Why? Read further.
The next day I trailed the 45+ man from a distance and could hear a low-key stuck-up car horn sound emanating in his wake (air waves). Unaware of my intent he was happily letting out a long drawn syllable in to the morning air.
Increasing my pace, I drew close to him and heard the mono syllable “Ohmmmmmm” loud and clear. He must have sensed my presence which might have upset his rhythm. Feeling shy of my eavesdropping, he immediately switched off his vocal cords. Not to interfere anymore with his “mindful walking”, I pulled fast ahead, increasing the distance between us. Again a feeble “Ohmmmmmm” wafted through the morning air.
Unnerved or feeling bored with my unsolicited attention, Mr. Omkar must have chosen an alternative route to mind his own “mindful walking”. I am yet to see him again.
